Ocean Lock Construction

Ocean Lock was built in 1937. It was 80 feet wide and 375 feet long and allowed Goole to handling vessels of much larger tonnage than before. The lock was opened by Sir Josiah (later Lord) Stamp, the Chairman of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway.
